The most significant drawback of this style of leadership is that transformational leaders are at risk of losing sight of employees’ growth for the success of the entire organization.
Under this type of leadership, managers tend to establish predetermined incentives in the form of monetary rewards for success and disciplinary actions for failure. Transactional leadership defines the roles and responsibilities of every employee with a focus on mentorship, instructions, and training of the entire team.
The most important disadvantage of this style of leadership is that it does not leave enough space for innovation and creativity in employees and follows a rigid structure that might not adapt well to change.
