Dr. Anindya Sen is currently a Professor of Economics at IIM-C. He was earlier Dean (Program Initiatives) at IIM-C. He obtained his Ph.D degree from the University of Southern California, U.S.A. He has previously taught at Calcutta University and Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research, Mumbai. He has also held visiting positions at University of Notre Dame, USA and American University of Armenia. He was Dean of Graduate Studies, Indira Gandhi Institute of Development Research and also Chairman, Local Arrangements Committee for The India and South-East Asia Meeting of the Econometric Society, 1992.
Dr. Sen has published in both national and international journals. He has authored/edited 6 books, 5 of which have been published by the Oxford University Press. He has also worked on a number of projects, including a Reserve Bank of India sponsored project on Industrial Sickness in the Eastern Region and a Kolkata Port Trust sponsored project on Tariff Fixation for the KPT.
His research is in the areas of Industrial Organization, Theory of the Firm, Regulation, and Strategic Management.
Prof. Amit Dhiman works in the Human resource Management Group at Indian Institute of Management Calcutta. He has a Ph. D. in Human Resource Management from Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad. He also holds a Masters degree in Human Resource Management and BE degree in Mechanical Engineering. He has worked for more than seven years in industry in private sector, mainly in Human Resource Management and Organizational Development functions. Currently, he teaches Post Graduate level courses in Human Resource Management and Strategic Human Resource Management in Services.
Amit has research interests in Strategic Human Resource Management in Services, Performance Management, Accountability in Decision Making, and Organizational Commitment. In above areas and others, he has publications in acclaimed journals, and presentations in prestigious international conferences like Academy of Management. He has deep interest and felicity in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. He has got training in various pedagogies at prestigious institutions including Harvard Business School.
Amit had been actively involved in Management Development and Organizational Development initiatives in his role as a manager, corporate trainer, and academic. In recent past he has conducted Management Development Programs for organizations like Gujarat State Fertilizers and Chemicals, NTPC, M.N. Dastur, Vodafone, Indian Oil Corporation, SAIL, ICSE Board School Principals among others.
